Crazy Tube Circuits Rapture Overdrive Pedal

New Release

Rapture takes the complete drive section from Triptychon and brings it into a dedicated standalone overdrive with an expanded range of control. Its design draws from the qualities we value most in classic tube amplifiers when they are pushed into their sweet spot: natural compression, harmonic development, touch sensitivity and the gradual transition from clean to breakup. Expanding on the original Triptychon drive concept, Rapture adds two interactive toggle switches, MORE and MOD, which extend the gain structure and reshape the way the circuit reaches and responds to breakup.

Drive: Sets the amount of gain and the intensity of the amp-like compression and breakup. Lower settings emphasize harmonic richness, touch response and subtle enhancement; higher settings move further into pushed overdrive.

Tone: Shapes the tonal balance of the overdrive while retaining the fundamental character of the guitar and amplifier.

Master: Sets the overall output level. Use it around unity level for subtle enhancement or turn it up to push the following amplifier or gain stage harder.

MORE: Extends the available drive and gain behavior. Its effect depends on the drive setting and on the position of MOD, creating a more pushed version of the same core voice rather than a separate channel.

MOD: Changes the clipping behavior of the circuit. In the MODified position, clipping is reduced and the response becomes more open, moving the feel toward the compression and breakup associated with a tube amplifier being pushed near the limits of its clean headroom.

MORE + MOD Interaction:

The MORE and MOD controls are interactive. Their character changes with each other and with the drive control setting, producing subtle but meaningful variations in headroom, compression, harmonic content and playing feel.  Set both MORE and MOD to the down position for the exact original Triptychon drive section circuit/sound.
