A modern classic, elevated. The Suhr Standard Custom is an updated take on the Strat shape with upgrades such as a sharper radius on the edges, scraped body binding, and longer horns. These upgrades preserve the traditional aesthetic while improving comfort and feel. Crafted from a 2-piece mahogany body and a striking Burl maple top finished in Tea Burst, this instrument blends sophisticated styling with natural wood accents for a bold, distinctive feel. The Wilkinson 2-post bridge with locking saddles ensures smooth tremolo action and tuning while retaining that sleek Strat style.
The mahogany neck is paired with an ebony fingerboard, featuring an even C slim profile (.800 to .880) and a smooth satin finish. This profile, combined with heavy stainless-steel frets, offers effortless bending and crisp, articulate response.
This guitar has V60 single coils in the neck and middle positions, delivering shimmering cleans and dynamic rhythm tones. While the Thornbucker Plus humbucker in the bridge offers powerful output with tight lows and expressive highs. A 5-way blade switch and a push-push Tone control expand the tonal palette. This unique build strikes a balance of sophistication, character, and precision.
