Developed in collaboration with Defender, this limited-edition Silver Sky features the distinctive Portofino Red finish, a warm and confident color that reflects the character and personality of the Defender. The finish is complemented by a matching painted headstock and white pickguard, creating a bold yet beautifully cohesive aesthetic. Only 500 examples of the Portofino Red model will be produced worldwide, making it an especially limited addition to the Silver Sky family.

Beneath the exclusive finish is the Silver Sky platform developed by John Mayer and PRS around the sound, feel, and response of the vintage guitars that inspired it. The alder body is paired with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, featuring a 7.25" radius, 22 frets, and the 635JM-R neck shape. Three PRS 635JM single-coil pickups deliver the full, warm, vintage-inspired character that defines the Silver Sky, with a musical high end that stays clear and expressive without becoming harsh or brittle. A five-way blade switch, master volume, and two tone controls provide the familiar versatility of the Silver Sky, while the high-gloss nitro finish adds an elevated touch to the instrument.

The Defender influence continues through the smallest details. A PRS Steel Tremolo with Gen III knife-edge screws, vintage-style locking tuners, and nickel hardware provide dependable performance while preserving the Silver Sky's classic aesthetic. Each guitar includes a PRS ATA molded case with a custom Defender badge, along with a unique Defender-branded neck plate featuring the Portofino Red finish name and individual "1 of 500" designation. Warm, confident, and full of character, Portofino Red gives this Silver Sky a bold presence while maintaining the timeless proportions and playability that define the model.
