The PRS SE Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition brings together the unmistakable design and playability of the Silver Sky with the distinctive color language of Defender. Developed in collaboration with John Mayer, this limited-edition model draws inspiration from Defender’s contemporary color palette, giving the SE Silver Sky a bold new personality while retaining the feel, response, and versatility that have made the model a favorite among players. Each finish is paired with a black pickguard and black control knobs, a first for the Silver Sky, creating a striking contrast against the metallic finish.

At the heart of the Silver Sky Defender is a comfortable 635JM neck carved from maple with a rosewood 8.5" radius fingerboard, 22 frets, and PRS’s signature Small Birds inlays. Three PRS 635JM “S” single-coil pickups deliver full, warm, vintage-inspired tones with a musical high end that stays smooth rather than becoming harsh or brittle. A five-way blade switch, master volume, and individual tone controls provide a broad range of classic single-coil sounds, while the PRS two-point steel tremolo offers expressive pitch control with excellent tuning stability.

The Defender collaboration continues through the finer details, including a custom neck plate featuring the Defender branding and finish name, vintage-style tuners, and an exclusive PRS/Defender gig bag. Available in four contemporary Defender colors, the SE Silver Sky Defender combines the practicality of a serious player's instrument with the character of a genuinely distinctive limited-edition design.
