Dany Villarreal has quickly established herself as one of the most compelling guitarists of the new generation. As the lead guitarist and vocalist of Mexican rock trio The Warning, Villarreal combines commanding stage presence, technical precision, and raw energy to create a sound that is equally powerful and dynamic. Alongside her sisters, she helped The Warning rise from viral sensation to an internationally acclaimed rock band, earning a reputation as a fearless player and songwriter along the way. Villarreal’s relationship with PRS began when she first picked up a Custom 24-08 and immediately connected with its feel, versatility, and ability to fill out the sound of a three-piece band. The Astryx marks the culmination of that relationship as Villarreal’s first-ever PRS signature model, giving her a guitar designed around her identity as a player.

Built on the legendary Custom 24 platform, the Astryx combines familiar PRS design with a distinctive set of appointments created specifically for Villarreal. It features a figured maple 10-Top over a mahogany back, a one-piece mahogany Pattern Thin neck, 24 frets, a 25" scale length, and an ebony fingerboard with a custom Solecito, or "little sun," inlay pattern. The guitar is finished in Ocaso, a spectacular purple, pink, orange, and yellow fade inspired by a sunset, with a high-gloss nitro finish that lets the figured maple top shine through. A PRS Gen III tremolo and Phase III locking tuners provide the tuning stability and expressive range expected from a modern PRS, while the Dany Villarreal signature truss rod cover and autographed backplate make this unmistakably her instrument.

At the heart of the Astryx is a pair of PRS DMO humbuckers, offering the dynamic, musical, and open response needed to cover everything from articulate clean passages to the aggressive, high-energy tones that define The Warning. The 5-way blade switch provides a remarkably versatile range of sounds, including full humbucking tones and split-coil combinations, giving the Astryx plenty of flexibility without sacrificing its focused voice. Limited to just 200 instruments worldwide for 2026, the Astryx is more than a Custom 24 with a new finish. From its celestial-inspired Solecito inlays, signed backplate, and Ocaso finish to its carefully selected electronics and artist-specific details, every element reflects Dany Villarreal’s journey, heritage, and approach to the guitar.
