Fender Custom Shop’s "Postmodern" collection are guitars that combines classic Fender designs and vintage aesthetics with modern playability, hardware, and electronics. The idea is to take the best features from different eras of Fender history and combine them into instruments that are more versatile and comfortable to play than strict vintage reissues.

This Jazzmaster is truly special.  Firstly, the rarely seen "Twilight Sky" paint job combines gorgeous hues of orange and yellow with a subtle addition of metallic flake to evoke a setting sun.  The DLX Closet Classic treatment leaves all of the paint in tact, but with light checking, providing further complexity and uniqueness to the look.  The semi-hollow construction adds warmth and sustain, along with more acoustic volume.

The combination of a more traditional flat-magnet Jazzmaster pickup and a CuNiFe Wide Range Jazzmaster humbucker, gives traditional Jazzmaster clarity in the neck and a different, more hi-fi voice at the bridge.  A truly versatile instrument for a variety of genres and styles.  As with most Custom Shop offsets, this guitar utilizes the RSD style bridge, which is only available on FCS builds and not able to be purchased on it's own.  It's highly sought after for its higher mass and more solid construction.  Aftermarket prices for this bridge alone often sit at $500 or even higher.
