This exceptional Stratocaster was acquired by Round Hill Music Co at the NAMM 2026 Fender Custom Shop VIP event. A true one-of-a-kind creation, it was masterfully built by apprentice luthier Dan Gonzales and finished in a striking Burgundy Mist Metallic Black Burst.

We have the privilege of handling Stratocasters in nearly every configuration imaginable. Yet, this instrument stands apart. From the moment you wrap your hand around the neck and feel the naturally worn, relic’d body against your arm, it evokes the unmistakable authentic character of a guitar crafted more than six decades ago. While the custom finish immediately commands attention, what truly distinguishes this piece is its remarkable resonance. Even unplugged, it is vibrant, articulate, and impressively loud.  Each component rings in harmony to produce a cohesive, lively response. That same balance and clarity translates beautifully through an amplifier.

For the color palette, Gonzales drew inspiration from the cover art of AFI’s 2025 release, “Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…,” channeling its dramatic aesthetic into a finish that is both bold and refined. His vision is evident in every detail of this build. Dan Gonzales is undoubtedly a name to watch for in future Fender Custom Shop projects.  He's an emerging talent whose craftsmanship and artistic direction is indicative of a very promising future.  Here is a chance to own one of his early builds before he becomes as in demand as some of his more tenured counterparts.
