Our Story

Round Hill Music Co. was created to bring something back that quietly disappeared. The experience of discovering music in a physical space, surrounded by instruments, records, and people who genuinely care.

Founded by musician Josh Gruss, Round Hill Music Co. opened in Greenwich with a simple idea. Music should be played, listened to, explored, and shared. Not rushed. Not transactional. Not reduced to a screen.

Josh picked up his first guitar at age 12, studied at Berklee College of Music, and spent years performing and touring before settling in Greenwich. When he arrived, he noticed something missing. Despite a strong local music scene and proximity to legendary venues like The Capitol Theatre, Greenwich had gone years without a true music store that offered both vinyl and a serious guitar experience. Round Hill Music Co. was built to fill that void.

A Modern Music Store With Old-School Values

From the start, the vision was to create a hybrid space where guitars, vinyl, live music, and community coexist. A place where you can browse records, play guitars, attend an intimate in-store performance, or simply hang out and talk music.

Our shop features a small in-house stage for clinics, listening sessions, and live performances, with artists ranging from rising players to legendary musicians. Every detail of the space is intentional, designed to feel welcoming, inspiring, and deeply connected to music culture.

We carry a wide range of electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, with highlighted brands including Fender Custom Shop, Gibson Custom, Martin, Taylor, PRS, Novo, Rock N Roll Relics, Suhr, Ernie Ball Music Man, Lowden Guitars, and more.

These are highlights, not limits. Our inventory is constantly evolving, and we specialize in one-of-a-kind pieces and custom-spec’d instruments through our in-house Dream Shop program.

Vinyl, Hi-Fi Audio & the Listening Experience

Vinyl is central to the Round Hill Music Co. identity. Our in-store vinyl selection is extensive, spanning rock, alternative, jazz, blues, soul, and modern releases.

Online, we focus on select audiophile titles and box sets, including releases from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab.

We also offer high-end home audio and turntables from brands such as Devialet, Transparent Audio, Pro-Ject Audio Systems, and MoFi Electronics.
