From the first full year of production, this 1960 Fender Jazzmaster embodies the golden era of Fender craftsmanship. Introduced in 1958 as the company’s top-of-the-line model, the Jazzmaster was aimed at professional players and quickly became an icon of offset design. This early model features the classic slab rosewood fingerboard, clay dot inlays, and wide single-coil pickups that deliver the warm, woody tones prized by collectors and players alike. The offset body provides exceptional comfort, while the floating tremolo and lead/rhythm circuit make it one of the most versatile instruments of its time.
This example is in solid player-grade condition. The original frets remain intact and, while they were leveled at some point and now sit slightly lower, the guitar still plays smoothly with a low action and a fully functional truss rod. The pickguard shows noticeable warping and cannot be removed without risk of damage, though we were able to carefully access the electronics area and confirm that the pickups and pots are original. The toggle switch cap is not original. Included is the original case trem arm and bridge cover.
