The first time we picked up this ’59 Reissue, it felt less like a brand new instrument and more like something that had already been played and loved. The one-piece mahogany back has a weight that feels solid without being overbearing, and the figured maple top in Washed Cherry Sunburst has a depth that pulls us in before a single note is played.
The neck is where the connection deepens. The rounded 50s medium C profile fills our hands in a way that feels natural and steady. It is not thin and it is not oversized. It simply feels right, like it was shaped to be played for hours without distraction. The rosewood fingerboard has a warmth that makes chords ring with character and single notes sing with ease.
When we plug it in, the Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups speak with a voice that is clear without being harsh, warm without being muddy, and full of sustain that lingers in the air.
