Take a journey back to the mid-'50s with the 1955 Precision Bass® DLX Closet Classic from the Fender Custom Shop. This bass has the vintage vibe and tone of a well-loved original '55 P-Bass, thanks to its nitrocellulose lacquer finish and an array of authentic appointments.
The bass features a lightweight, resonant 2-piece select ash body finished in nitrocellulose lacquer, emulating the aged, cracked look of a vintage instrument. The quartersawn maple neck has a comfortable 1955 Soft “V" profile and a nitro finish for smooth playability. The fretboard is quartersawn maple with 20 vintage-style frets and black micarta dot inlays.
For classic tone, a Custom Shop Hand-Wound '55 Precision Bass pickup is mounted in the bridge position. Volume and tone controls offer simple but effective shaping of the bass's robust sound.
